As an interior designer, there’s nothing I love more than collaborating with artists to create custom pieces that breathe life into our projects. Each partnership yields unique results that reflect the individuality of both our clients and the artists we work with. I am excited to share three of our most recent collaborations from around the world.
Alice Riehl X Jordan Winery
We are thrilled to have commissioned French artist Alice Riehl’s first public installation in the United States at the Jordan Winery. Riehl’s masterpiece features large, intricate porcelain pieces meticulously crafted to reflect the flora and fauna of the Jordan grounds. This stunning artwork, which took about 11 months to complete, spans three walls and is inspired by ancient French tapestries. Riehl spent over three months studying the local plants on-site in Healdsburg, collecting samples and creating dried presses. I had the pleasure of visiting her studio in Paris to see the intricate work, made up of over 100 individual pieces, in progress. @aliceriehlceramics
Windy Chien X Paris Pied-à-Terre
We were fortunate to collaborate with San Francisco-based artist Windy Chien for a second time on a breathtaking installation for our project in Paris. Chien, known for her intricate and vibrant knot work, created a stunning piece that perfectly complements the space. I was able to meet Windy in Paris for the installation and witness firsthand the transformative effect of her artistry. The artwork not only adds a bold, dynamic element to the room but also beautifully bridges the gap between contemporary art and classic Parisian charm. @windychien
Bokja X San Diego Residence
We recently had the pleasure of working with one of my favorite textile studios in Lebanon. Bokja’s team of talented artisans represent the diverse textile practices of the region working to preserve local craft traditions. Together we designed a custom tapestry for a clients' home in La Jolla. Based in Beirut, Bokja is known for their exceptional craftsmanship and creativity. The hand-embroidered tapestry features a hummingbird to honor frequent visitors in our clients' garden. @bokjadesign
